The full 9 kilometres

Yes, you've read that right! It’s the longest distance and a unique chance to swim the full 9-kilometre length of Lake Achensee. This "supreme discipline" from the bathing beach Achensee Nord (Strandbad Achenkirch) to the SEE-Bad at the Atoll Achensee is also a point-value race for the biggest open water swimming cup in the German-speaking world. The "arena Alpen Open Water Cup" is a series of swimming competitions with a common points-based system.

The Bärenkopf in the Nature Park Karwendel affords spectacular views of Lake Achensee and its surrounding villages.

For children, youngsters and amateur swimmers

In addition to the long distance of nine kilometres, the event will also include shorter distance races. Swimmers can choose from distances of 5 kilometres (middle distance) or 2.5 kilometres (short distance). For children, youngsters and amateur swimmers, there are races over 500 and 250 metres. The start and finish of each race is the SEE-Bad at the Atoll Achensee in Maurach.

In summer, the Atoll Achensee is surrounded by verdant green meadows.
