The Achensee holiday region offers accommodations to suit everyone: inns, pensions, holiday apartments, farm-stay holidays, and hotels from budget to 5-star. In addition, there are five campsites for those who want to enjoy the benefits of staying outdoors in the beautiful nature surrounding Tirol’s largest lake.

Rental options

Professional diving equipment is available to hire from the Hotel Post am See in Pertisau and from the diving school “Tauchen in Tirol”. When you bring your own equipment, make sure that it is suitable for cold-water diving.

The Bärenkopf in the Nature Park Karwendel affords spectacular views of Lake Achensee and its surrounding villages.

Water sports in and on Lake Achensee are only permitted with the appropriate permits and licences. The conditions for 2025 are currently being revised. Please check back on this website later for the details.

  • Filling station for compressed air and Nitrox: The Hotel Post am See in Pertisau offers compressed air and Nitrox fills. 
  • Diving permit: Recreational diving in Lake Achensee is only allowed with a diving permit every year from 1 April to 31 October. For all questions about permits and licences required for water sports at Lake Achensee, please contact the Welcome-CENTER Achensee.
