Dorfhaus Steinberg
The award-winning Dorfhaus in Steinberg, which comprises a restaurant, multi-purpose hall, foyer, and farm shop, was completed in 2016. Architect Bernado Bader from Bregenz planned and designed the Dorfhaus based on the traditional architectural style of the region. The Dorfhaus was built exclusively from local larch wood. The unspectacular ensemble of the new Dorfhaus, community hall and church has already received several awards, including the Holzbaupreis Tirol 2019 (Tirolean Wood Award) in the category “public buildings”, and an award for innovative buildings from the state of Tirol in 2016. In 2017, Steinberg was named the "proHolz Tirol – best community building with wood (recognition in the category "communities build with wood"). In addition, the building was nominated for the "Österreichischen Bauherrenpreis der Zentralvereinigung der Architekten 2016" (Austrian builder award of the Austrian architecture organization).
The Dorfhaus in Steinberg combines a restaurant, café, meeting place and pastry shop in an award-winning design – a meeting place in the heart of Steinberg opposite the parish church and the municipal office.
The access to the Dorfhaus and toilets are barrier-free.
