The iconic Rofan Night Ascent will take on a new identity and enter an exciting new era as the "Rofan Ascent - Vertical Race". Now part of a dynamic event format, the race combines a cherished tradition with fresh energy. Ski tourers can look forward to the same legendary spirit paired with exciting new challenges. Don't miss your chance to be part of this unforgettable experience!
- Start time & route: The race begins on Sunday, 23 February 2025 at 13.00. The starting point is located on the plateau below the former Buchauer Alm (1410m). From there, participants will ascend 450 metres of elevation on a groomed slope to the top station of the Rofan cable car. You can find the detailed route information at maps.achensee.com.
- Award ceremony: The award ceremony will take place approximately 30 minutes after the end of the Vertical Race, during which trophies will be presented to the winners.
- After-race party: Celebrate from 13.00 at the race party with plenty of food, drinks, and live music. The festivities conclude at 16.30, followed by the descent with the Rofan cable car.
Be part of this exciting continuation of a 26-year tradition of night skiing in the Rofan, now reimagined in a new format. The event is open to all amateur athletes - no accreditation or licence is required to participate.
