Achensee Ski Tour Camp
At the Achensee Ski Touring Camps on 18/19 January, 25/26 January, 30/31 January, mountain & ski guides will provide essential safety training, covering both emergency situations and general mountain safety. Participants will learn how to use avalanche transceivers, probes & shovels, and gain skills in assessing routes, terrain and their own physical condition.
ITINERARY
1st day
- Start at 8.30 at the event centre in Maurach
- Introduction mountain guides & product presentation
- Distribution of test equipment (avalanche transceivers, shovels, probes, skis)
- Guided ski tour in the open terrain (Rofan mountains) according to skill level, with tips from certified mountain & ski guides
- Completion of the avalanche educational trail in the Rofan mountains incl. emergency training and safety sessions in the terrain
- Group dinner at the Erfurter Hütte mountain hut
- Avalanche awareness lecture in the evening
2nd day
- From 7.30 breakfast at the Erfurter Hütte mountain hut
- Tour planning together with certified mountain guides – information, tips, how to read maps, etc.
- More equipment tests and short practice sessions (Rofan mountains), combined with a guided ski tour
- Approx. 15.00: Return

Use the parking area 2 at the Rofan cable car and walk to the event centre Maurach
To participate, you must have advanced off-piste skiing skills. Levels such as ‘intermediate’ and 'advanced' apply specifically to ski touring, not to other activities like mountain running. If you've never done an off-piste ski tour before, you would be considered a beginner.
